چکیده

Background : The major cause of pulpal and periapical diseases are living non irritants. The irritants include various microorganisms including bacteria, yeast viruses. success of endondotic treatment depends on eradication these prevention reinfection. Mechanical instrumentation alone does not result in microorganism free root canal system, due to complex root anatomy. Thus, irrigants essential ensure microbial minimization elimination of organic tissue remnants. Qmix irrigating solution used as a final rinse after bleach for one step smear layer removal and  disinfection eliminate greater than 99.99% planktonic bacteria the resistant species E.faecalis. Objective: aim this invitro study is evaluate antimicrobial efficacy qmix irrigant infected root system. Material Methods: Crowns 60 extracted premolar teeth were sectioned at cemento-enamel junction. samples stored temporarily physiological saline solution. canals shaped using crown down technique upto F3 protaper file. Enterococcus faecalis was inoculated Brain heart infusion (BHI) agar plate incubated anaerobically 37 ?C 24 h. After incubation, specimens were removed then rinsed. In negative group (n=20), there no treatment. other group (n=20), sections irrigated with 5 mL 5.25% NaOCl s. third (n=20) treated with 60-90 seconds. procedures, subjected CFUcounting evaluations. Results: irrigation, layer positive were significantly superior, compared (p Conclusion: Both groups, especially group, showed satisfactory bactericidal effects experimentally contaminated canals. Keywords: Qmix, E.faecalis.

Laser-based Disinfection of the Root Canal System: An Update.

INTRODUCTION Microorganisms have been considered to have played a critical role in the initiation and development of pulpo-periapical diseases. Some evidences have shown that mechanical instrumentation may leave considerable portions of canal surfaces undebrided. Therefore, some supplemental methods, such as the use of chemical solutions and/or lasers, have been introduced to further disinfect ...

Evaluation of Root Canal Morphology and Root Apex Anatomy of Mandibular Premolars in an Iranian Population: an ex-vivo study

Objectives Adequate knowledge about canal anatomy is necessary for clinicians to prevent any damage to the periodontium. The aim of this study was to evaluate the canal and apical complexities of the mandibular first and second premolars in an Iranian population. Methods One-hundred mandibular first (n=50) and second (n=50) premolars were collected. After access cavity preparation, 2% methylen...
